WoW script being written

Moviehole has a interesting bit of news on the prospectful World of Warcraft movie. Supposedly, a "script is being written but if they say anything more than that they will be shot." The film is set to focus on events a year prior to that of the game, as well as an all-new hero.

To be brutally honest, I've always been a Runescape fan myself, as immensely dorky at that is, but this is intriguing news nonetheless. We'll see where it goes.

Not gonna happen! As a Blizzard fan, I can safely say that their standards are too high to turn their delicious video games into crap movies. They have a notorious record of killing games that they don't deem amazing, even ones they've already started advertising for.

The movie possibly could be amazing. But even if the script, the team, the director and actors all were gold (yeah right), Warcraft is a Lord of the Rings rip-off, and Blizzard knows it. That alone means a movie is out of the question; they won't allow any bad reputation near them.

Well, on the flipside, I know that EA (and formerly Westwood of Command and Conquer fame) already makes bad movies out of their games: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rn6oXhpkP-0

This movie will be terrible - why waste such a sterling reputation so stupidly? You can't make a good movie based on a video game, people should stop trying!
